Workshop - Sewing

I'm an impatient person so sewing is not really my thing. I learned it in the workshop last week, i think it is a fun experienced that make me appreciate clothes even further. The most difficult part is using the machine, which is you have to stomp on the square things under the sewing machine to control the speed of the machine. Like i mentioned before i'm impatient and its hard for me to control it.

Last week i learned how to sew, which i never really like. I learned some basic of sewing during my high school. Basically, the lecturer printed an owl shape and we have to work with it to produce the owl from paper to fabrics. This is what i created.

Visual Research - Clay

Clay will be one of the materials for my data's visuals. My idea is that I will make some grawlix sign (@#$%?!) by using clay and put it in different color. Maybe I'll put percentage on it and took a picture, or even make it animated.

I found some interesting "junk art". They smear some magic on the junk and turned them into a masterpieces. from toilet paper, egg shell, old cassette, old newspaper, etc. into something value.

When people said f*ck, sh*t, c*nt, etc out lout in public, other people might judge them as a scum of society. Therefore, i wanted to change that point of view, trash into a something nice, art. I wanted to use trash as one of my visuals. Moreover, it is good for environment to do recycle.

Flat illustrator make the work or artwork look simple. It is becoming a trend now-a-days to do over-simplified illustration. By using solid color and basic shapes, not too much detail it will lead to a flat illustration.

Paper Craft

I interested with the paper craft since a long time ago. I was thinking to do it for fun. However, i couldn't do the template by myself because I'm lacking of illustration skill.  Thus, made me wanted to put this into one of my project and learn more how to do it properly.

I did a research based on 35 people and the people group ages are around 16-24 years old. I shared the link in a social media and among my friends. The result is quite interesting for part as my quantitative data collections.

They took this analysis within three days. In the three-day period queried, shit appeared in 10.5 million U.S. Facebook interactions, fuck in 9.5 million, damn in 6.3 million, bitch in 4.5 million, and crap in 2 million.

Art can be in any forms and anything, including bad words. Bad words also can be any where and in any forms like, gestures, speech and including art. However, there is a guy named John Brandler, he hang a modern shakespeare acrylic painting from the Penguin Classics book titled " A Load of Fuss About Fuck All" in his own gallery and the policemen in his area don't allow this one "fuck" word to hang on his own museum.

Origin of Bad Languages

There are some common and basic strong words are regularly used. For example, shit, fuck, asshole, etc. Those words came from different countries and thoughts. These bad words are found very offensive for some people and not the others.

i got this online, the designer explained about
 writing instruments in infographic way.

My topic is "pen". The reason why i want to do this is because, no one ever pay attention to the pens they have. They see and use them mostly everyday, but they don't know anything about it. I want to focus more on it and want to know about it because i feel it is a "small" matter but actually it give big impact to human life. We can't write without pen/pencil.
