Angélica Dass's photography challenges how we think about skin color and
ethnic identity. In this personal talk, hear about the inspiration
behind her portrait project, Humanæ, and her pursuit to document
humanity's true colors rather than the untrue white, red, black and
yellow associated with race.
By cataloging every conceivable human skin tone, Angélica Dass illustrates that skin color and race are more complex than they might appear at first glance. I like the idea of college photos that she created, i just don't feel like its strong enough. I see colors of human figures are beautiful, however i cannot feel any intention that she meant from the project that she creates. It doesn't mean a racist person will stop being racist by looking at it.
